My John COOK, was abt. 40 years old during the War of 1812-14. I do not know if he served from New York. I'm not related to the BLACK family. 1) Private John J. COOK, Jr. served under Capt. John J. COOK, in Major Frederic GETMAN Infantry Militia from 7 Sept. 1814 to 14 Nov. 1814, paid $18.13 by S. Edmonds, P.M. Vou. 158.K. Remarks: From Montgomery County. William BLACK's sub. Disc. Nov. 8th at Sackets Harbor, [Jefferson Co.], NY. I just . Residence Montgmery Co. distance 130 miles allowed 6 days to return. Roll 359. 2) Capt. John J. COOK served under Major Frederic GETMAN Infantry Militia from 7 Sept. 1814 to 14 Nov. 1814, paid $90.66 by S. Edmonds, P.M. Vou. 158.K. Remarks: From Montgomery County. Disc.
