I have a very complete (two volumes of information) genealogy done by my Montreal cousin Claude Lefebvre. It is all in french and I am in the process of translating it.
Simon Bertrand married Francoise Aimee in France. They lived in the village of LaFerriere-Airoux, near Poitiers. They gave birth to Jean around 1667
Jean came to Quebec with his brother gabriel around 1690. Jean married Charlotte Brard on Sept 23, 1697. She was a Fille de Roi or an orphan sent to Canada to marry a settler. Jean received a land grant in the Saint-Laaurent parish in 1702 shortly after the peace treaty with the Mohawks. Jacques was born Sept 5 1699. Jean died in 1728.
Jacque married Louise Dumouchel in 1729 and in 1748 Vital was born. Jacque died in 1771
Vital married Angelique Seguin in 1772 and Benjamin was born in 1796 Vital died in 1807.
Benjamin married Adelaide Gauthier in 1817 and in 1825 they gave birth to Theophile. Benjamin died in 1881.
Theophile married Virginie Sabourin in 1852 and my grandfather Fortunat was born in 1871. Theophile died in 1901.
Forntunat married Amanda Brunet in 1895 and my father was born in 1904, one of 11. My father's name at birth was Diomede but his US citizen papers say Duhamel which he went by for all of his adult life.
