My friend's great-grandmother died in 1914 and according to a list on the Lackawanna county site, her obit appeared in the Scranton Truth on 28 Dec 1914. She is buried in the Hyde Park/Washburn Cemetery in Scranton.
She was 51 years old at the time of her death, the widow of Sylvanus Slater for a number of years; she was listed as a widow in the 1910 census. The mother of nine children, only four were living in 1910: Walter Herman, b. abt 1884, Minnie S., b. abt 1888, Franklin David, b. 23 Mar 1893 (WWI draft registration) and Emma Lydia, later known as Emily, b. 20 Oct 1899.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
