Following is a transcription of the will of James BENNETT, Sr. from film at the Missouri State Archives in Jefferson City, MO. I have no relation to this family and have no other information on them. Film C3990 Vol. 1, Wills 1840-1868 Linn Co, MO Page 11, "Oct 24, 1846 State of Missouri and County of Linn, In the presence of God, I James Bennett Senr. in my last will and Testament do hereby Bequeath and will One Red Cow and Calf to my daughter Hily Bennett, and One Brindle Cow with white face and back and One calf to Rhoda Bennett my daughter and my house hold furniture to be equally divided between the aforesaid Hily and Rhoda Bennett to their own Satisfaction.___________ and also one blue sow with a white list and six running with the Blue Listed sow, and one Yoke of Oxen and Waggon [sic], to be left in the care of John Bennett, for the benefit of the aforesaid Hily and Rhoda Bennett and when they leave here the oxen and waggon and hogs are to be his property the aforesaid John Bennett, and also my Potatoes and Corn I will equally divided between the aforesaid Hily and Rhoda Bennett.__ and also I will and bequeath One Wither sheep to Isaac Keller and One Ewe sheep to Valentine Mires and fifty Cents in cash to each. and One horse plows and gearing, One axe and one lot whaet [sic] fourteen dollars and fifty cents worth of hogs to be sold for the payment of all my debts. ______ I also will Henderson Bennett two dollars and after my debts are paid I will and Bequeath what is left [smeared, probably transcription mistake rubbed out] to Wily Bennett to be equally divided. I also appoint Willliam W. Dryden to Administer on my estate. Testator James Bennett senr. Wit: W. W. Dryden John Bennett William Bosley X Proof of will by W. W.
