Hey Carol - I've not run accross any Betsey's or Elizabeth Bennetts yet --- I would imagine that she would have been born around 1810. The Bennetts in New England are a tangled web - There are 2 immigrant Bennetts that I have been able to find - Richard of Salem and Anthony (Nephew of Richard) in the 1600's. I've only myself run across the earlier Bennetts and only have confidence in my research to the late 1600s - which is also making me question some some earlier assumptions and research as to my own lineage. Prior to the parentage of my ancestor who served in the Civil War. Anthony was the son of an England Bennett who passed and the widow remarried to a man by the name of Window, Windowe, Winthrop who came to New England with the Widow's children - Anthony and Elizabeth. Widow Bennett did not come to New England and remained in England and passed away there. When Window, Windowe, Winthrop - Anthony was put in the charge of his "uncle" Richard (of Salem). There the names get tricky. I would imagine that your Betsey - or Elizabeth was of one of these men (Anthony or Richard) -- I've been looking through my stuff so far and have not come across Betsey or Elizabeth who married a Stackpole (Stacpole)- I did see the same references that you refered to Abigail's marriage and Stephen's subsequent remarriage in Saugus from your most recent post and a previous post a few years ago. Betsey/Elizabeth may have been a widow herself - or it could have been her first marriage - or not... I'll keep my eyes open - like I said I'm still exploring the 17th Century New England Bennetts myself and trying to make proper connections and will let you know what I find.
