Looking to see if anyone has found connections to John Bennett and Mary Gilman of Vermont (John reportedly was born in England based on an Historical Sketch of his Great-Great grandson the Honorable Joseph Bennett who was a State Senator, Honorary degree recipient of Bowdoin College (Brunswick, Maine))..
Hon. Joseph Bennett was the son of William Bennett and Charlotte (nee. Bennett) of Bridgton. Charlotte was a cousin of William and a descendant also of John and Mary.
I am of the William Bennett lines -
1 William Bennett b. 1767 m. Lois (Louis/Louise Flint - depending on the reference - who was the d/o James and Ziba Flint of the Thomas Flints in Reading).
2. William Bennett b. 1804 (f/o Joseph above) m. Charlotte Bennett (children listed below).
3 William Bennett b. 1832 (b/o Joseph above) was a carpenter who removed to Mass. around 1750 with his first wife Louisa Stevens (d/o James and Mehitable Stevens of Maine) - they had three children and then Louisa died.
William W. then married Maria Catherine Mussels of Nova Scotia in 1878 - of which I am descended.

Hoping that someone has worked back to John Bennett and Mary Gilman - I do believe there are Illinois and NY connections - I've just not followed those branches that far.
