I'm still searching for my Reason Bell. At times, you would think the name Reason is unique, but I've come across so many Reason Bell men, I just wonder, where or when the name Reason came into the Bell line? My Reason Bell was supposedly born in South Carolina around 1817. It isn't clear when or how he ended up in Georgia, since I can't find any other information about him. I haven't been able to give him parents or siblings, and believe me, I've tried. Reason married Louisa (maiden name is not clear) around 1837, again, we don't know if they married in SC or Georgia. Their first child Mary was born in Georgia in 1838. Second child, Martha was born in GA, in 1840. Other children are Julia, Nettie, John and James David. We believe another child was born to Reason and Louisa but must have died young. Our family is found in Gilmer County, GA in 1850, but we've not been able to find information prior to this. The name Reason Bell does not show up on any census forms prior to 1850 and since we can't find parents or siblings, this Reason is a complete mystery. Can anyone help me or give me some kind of clue? We know the family lived in Boardtown, Georgia, an Indian community just north of Ellijay in Gilmer County, and we believe the family must have been in the area around 1838 as their first child Mary was born in Georgia (along with the other children). No school records exist and no birth records can be found for any of the children. I'm at a loss! I'm looking for any suggestions, help, clues, assistance. You can email me direct at the address below if you think you can help. lesliewhooper@suddenlink.net Notify Administrator about this message?
