I'm just beginning the quest to discover where my family originated. Honestly, what started this was a pair of friends who were married in Scotland in 2007 at his family's ancestral castle. I was always told I was 1/4 Scot, but never knew the Clan.
I'm looking for anyone who has a reference to Cora Ella Bell, who was born July 31, 1894 to Ronald C. Bell and Nellie Hicks. As best I can tell, she would have been born in Owen Sound, Ontario, Canada. On November 25, 1921 she married Carl Herman Burke (who's given name was Charles Herman Alfred Bjork prior to his immigration to the U.S.) in Toledo, OH. On the marriage certificate, her name is listed as "Cora Helen Bell" but "Ella" is listed on her death certificate (Oct. 24, 1977)
Cora was my great-grandmother; mother to my grandfather James Herman Burke.
If anyone knows anything, I'd be grateful for any assistance.
