That's wonderful news. Next time you talk to your Aunt Bernice, tell her a long lost relative says hi. ;-) Also, ask her if she ever heard of a Britton or Briton Baskerville. A woman by the name of Melody Lecky I believe, lead me to a picture of the Buena Vista Baskerville Plantation that her relatives once owned. I have a picture of Briton Baskerville that one sent to me by someone, but I can't remember who. I'm getting old. Anyhow, one time Ms. Lecky said she would check an old slaves bible that her cousin had, but I never heard back from her. Well, I have a picture of Britton, and could copy and send it to you if you like. He was born around 1860 and died around 1898. He was born a slave, and later was educated at the Boydton Institute and Wayland Seminary. In this write-up I've obtained, it says, he served one term in the House of Delegates (1887-88)He posed in this photo with other African American delegates. It's quite an interesting article.
