According to a newly-published book of Aucoin genealogy by Charlie Dan Roach of Cheticamp, NS (Nov 2004), entitled Our Aucoins of Cheticamp, under Joseph-Gabriel married to Julie Broussard, their child number 6 was Amedee (born at Cheticamp 11 Sep 1880) and was known as "Médé, Ned and/or Murdoch"; he married 13 Jan 1903 to Marie Cormier.
Of Amedee's children, a son John Francis had a daughter named Josephine who married Melvin James MacDonald, which I presume is your family.
