I have a book entitled "Genealogie des Familles De Cheticamp" written by Remi Chiasson in 1972. Remi has since died. He was my uncle.
Under Gabriel, son of Pascal, son of Grand'noume (Joseph b. 1778)it says Gabriel was married to Julie Broussard, children were Charles, Lubin, Henri and a girl. This doesn't appear to be the line for a child "Amede".
I do have an Amede Aucoin as son of Simon, son of Pierrot (one of the original founders). Amede's third marriage was to Vitaline Poirier. A daughter from this marriage married a "Murphy from Halifax". This is pobably too early for you but the Murphy reference was interesting.
I cannot find any Martin Aucoin listed anywhere Do you know any of the Martin Aucoin siblings?
