I am looking for information to unravel my COURTOY family, who I now suspect were really the Jacquinet family.
Nicolas Jacquinet was the son of George Jacquinet and Anne AUBERT, and they married 1842 at Haroue, France.
were they Huguenot? I dont know, but Nicolas married Jeanne BAUR in 1769 and later, 1799 was in London applying for denization as John Courtoy.
MASERAT is another name he used for his children, other families involved look to be CARES, ECCARD, RAY VINOT GUENAIRE CHATELAIN VAUDEVILLE CLAUDE LHUILLIER CHRETIEN
I dont have info, but sure could use some advice if you know what else I can do to sort them out, I do not speak french so it is all quite difficult.
