I'm passing along this information hoping someone might make a connection. I have had no luck in finding information on Leander's background so far. Here is what I do have -
Leander H. ARNOLD married Hattie KIMBALL in Chicago, Cook county, Illinois on 4 March 1885. Three children were born to the couple: James A., b. Nov. 1885; Florence A., b. Mar 1889; and Alice D., b. Jul 1893 - all in Chicago. Hattie died 29 March 1896 in Chicago. Leander died in Chicago on 4 Sep 1897, with burial in Oak Woods cemetery, Chicago.
Following the deaths of their parents, the children lived with their widowed grandmother, Lydia Ann (FERRINGTON) KIMBALL. She moved with the children to Galesburg, Knox county, Illinois to be closer to her family. She died in 1902, leaving the children to be raised by others. The only record I have that says Leander was born in Rhode Island was the 1900 census of his children:

I do not know what became of James; he is not listed in the World War I draft records, or any other record I can find. I cannot find the girls after the 1910 census:

My connection to this family is through my wife's Ferrington (later Farrington) line. Any information on Leander or what became of his children would be appreciated.
