Mrs. or Ms. Patricia I have been researching the family line of Thomas Allred, Jr. 1777-1852 for several years. I am a 7th generation, I understand your wanting to verify your info, when I first started my research I found that you have to be somewhat skeptical about about your resources and it is sometimes hard to get information that can be verifed with dependable sources. I am not complaining about information that I get from anyone. I consider it a starting point and go from there verfiying the information that I get just like you. I have come upon your name several times doing research on the net. I know you are interested in putting only reliable information in your research. I am planning to make a trip to Blount and surrounding Alabama counties doing research at the court houses, libraries, and transcribing graveyards. Because of health reasons I have done most of my research on the net. Mr. Dewell Coleman Lott, has wrote a book (The Family of Thomas Allred, Jr.) which is very informative and reliable. I have talked with him on the phone several times. You can find a lot of his information at http://www.allredroster.com/ I also have his E-Mail and postal address.Dewell Coleman Lott, Rt 3, Box 255, Hartselle AL 34560 dlott@hiwaay.net. Robin Sterling also has a fine site Robin Sterling's. Blount County,Alabama Web Site http://home.hiwaay.net/~bobwonda/. There is alot of Civil War info here. The Allred and Sterling families run together alot and there is a lot of pictures and info on the desendents of Samuel Fortner and Matilda Josephine Allred. Did any of your line happen to locate in Union, Tippah, Pontotoc, Lee, or Prentiss County, Mississippi. I have alot of pictures from cemeteries we have transcribed in this area and would be happy to share them. I hope this helps. Jackie Russell Notify Administrator about this message?
