The following article regarding historical markers in Upshur County, Texas appeared in the 6/18/2008 issue of the Longview News-Journal newspaper:
INDIAN ROCK VILLAGE (On FM 1650, about five miles southeast of Gilmer)
Indians located a rock to help them prepare food. Without tools, they fashioned stone-age mortars to grind their corn.

Note: This is in northeast Texas where Caddo Indians were known to have lived.
