Thank you for getting back to me. Yes, these are my family. The problem is I cannot identify the parents of Thomas. My cousin and I are descended from Nick Thomas Choate. Nick's social security application form says his father's name is J. Thomas Choate and his mother's is Minnie Bell Baker Choate. Some in the family think the J is for Jack. I don't quite know how to proceed because of the J. I have just sent away to Kentucky for birth certificates for Nick Thomas b1903 KY and (J) Thomas b1861 KY. These requests went for Christian County. Sorry if I seem to ramble on. Would you have any suggestions?
