Dr. Starr's "History of the Cherokee People", published 1921, is not a source for Susie's father being anyone, as Dr. Starr does not supply a name for either of Susie's parents. He does say Anthony Foreman's 2nd wife, Elizabeth, was Susie's niece. This immediate family does not appear on the Dawes Final Roll because they lived over a a hundred years prior to that Roll. The Cherokee Cession Treaty of 1806, signed in "the city of Washington" was signed by these Cherokee: Henry Dearborn, [L. S.] Double Head, his x mark, [L. S.] James Vanu, his x mark, [L. S.] Tallotiskee, his x mark, [L. S.] Chulioa, his x mark, [L. S.] Sour Mush, his x mark, [L. S.] Turtle at home, his x mark, [L. S.] Katihu, his x mark, [L. S.] John McLemore, his x mark, [L. S.] Broom, his x mark, [L. S.] John Jolly, his x mark, [L. S.] John Lowry, his x mark, [L. S.] Red Bird, his x mark, [L. S.] John Walker, his x mark, [L. S.] Young Wolf, his x mark, [L. S.] Skeuha, his x mark, [L. S.] Sequechu, his x mark, [L. S.] Wm. Showry, his x mark, [L. S.] [source: "Indian Affairs: Laws and Treaties. Vol. II (Treaties)", Compiled and edited by Charles J. Kappler, Washington : Government Printing Office, 1904[Page 90-91]] I do not see the name you posted among theCherokee signers or anywhere in that treat. So, it seems at this point you have one on-line source as a possible source for Susie's father's identity. good luck. gd Notify Administrator about this message?
