There are no recognized Choctaw tribes in Texas. There are a number of Choctaw people who live in Texas, and at one time in the early 1800's there was a band of Choctaw who temporarily lived in Northeast TX. the left and returned to southwest AR, and ultimately to the Choctaw Nation in Indian Territory (Oklahoma, today). Recognized Choctaw groups are: the Choctaw Nation of Oklahoma (Durant, OK), Jena Band of Choctaw Indians of Louisiana (Jena, LA), and the Mississippi Band of Choctaw Indians (Philadephia, MS). Good luck. There are no other recognized Choctaw Bands or Nation. gd Notify Administrator about this message?
