I have found two possibilities for your George Abshire.
Both Spencer Co, Luce Township, IN. On born 1914 one 1919 and I believe from what I have found that they probably are cousins. The one b. 1914 was born to Charles and Melvina Abshire. Cannot find them in 1930 but find a George of the correct age living with grandparents George & Naomia Abshire.
The one b. 1919 was born to Fred D. and Ella Abshire. George --the grandfather had brother named Fred.
If you think one of these might be the right one, I will see if I can find anything else.
I also found a death date for the one b. 1914--April 1979 in Martinsville, Morgan Co., IN
